RSSOM Operations and Maintenance Site Facilities OMSF

In November 2022, NGE Canada signes the contract for the Ontario Line Rolling Stock, Systems, Operation and Maintenance (RSSOM) project. This transformative scheme will buil a new subway line in Toronto, the first fully automated heavy metro line in North America.

NGE Canada’s participation in the RSSOM project will involve the design, construction, andmaintenance of the trains and the associates systems, including signaling, communications and power supply.

RSSOM overhead catenary system

TSO Can, a subsidiary of NGE, was awarded the contract for the overhead catenary system on the Ontario Line. This project features a 32 km 1.5 kV overhead catenary system in open routes and maintenance depots, as well as 17 km of 1.5kV OCS in the double-bored tunnel 1. This project represents a significant step toward sustainable mobility in Canada, integrating advanced catenary technologies into the city’s transit infrastructure.

The Ontario Line is a critical infrastructure project connecting key neighbourhoods and employment centers across Toronto, improving access to jobs, education, and services. The new line will also help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution, supporting the city’s more sustainable and livable efforts.
